Tyrese Gibson is not ready to make peace with his co-star from The Fate of the Furious, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
The singer turned actor is angry because Mr. Johnson is expected to star in the first spin-off of the franchise with Jason Statham.
According to reports, the new film that is set for a 2019 release will focus on the characters, Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw. They will go on a mission without the other members of The Fast and the Furious family.
Jonhson’s decision to star in the spin-off means that the next Fast and the Furious movie will only be out on April 10, 2010.
Gibson was not supportive of the idea because he believes that it will hurt the franchise as a whole.
The Ride Along 2 actor has been going on an online campaign to get Johnson to reconsider the move, but he failed.
Wednesday night, Gibson took to Instagram to say that he does not plan to back down in his feud with Johnson because he believes that his stance is the right one.
He stated that the bosses behind the movie series will not be able to get him to remove the post because Johnson is currently destroying something that he helped build.
The former wrestling star is keeping a low profile when it comes to Gibson — the man known as The Rock has a clean image in the entertainment industry and a prolonged fight on social media with a business partner could hurt his attending.
Moreover, he is reportedly considering a presidential run in 2020, and it is best for him to stay out of messy situations.
Most fans sided with The Rock and find Gibson’s behavior silly. Some even went as far as calling him a jealous man for handling the spin-off news the way he did.
A few commenters even wondered if Gibson will remain part of the franchise for very long since it is obvious that The Rock has become the bigger star.
